No Selfie For Jesus

Written by

Whether we like it or not, the obsession with selfies has seduced everyone from the Pope to Presidents, as well as people from all walks of life the world over. Ever so inconspicuously selfies have become part and parcel of our social network and mobile lifestyle and we have even come to believe that they make moments of our lives really count.

Still one can’t help but wonder if Yeshua* would indulge in taking a picture of Himself and post it on Facebook if He was physically here today.

Significantly no life drawing painting or sculpture was ever made of Him. No one knows what He really looked like, except that He was a Middle Eastern Jew. Yet a day is coming when everyone will see Him and recognize Him. But on that day there will be no selfies taken. Our eyes will be totally on Him, and not at all on ourselves. And there will be no need to add anything else to make that moment really count.

* Yeshua is the Hebrew name of Jesus.
